Lost Femoral Segment in a Young Adult
18 ys. male patient involved in RTA sustained grade 2 open fracture rt. femur with 15 cm. segment lost at the scene of the accident plus intecondylar fr. and fr. both bones rt. leg with extensive soft tissue injury. No neurovascular compromise . Initial treatment was debridment , intercondylar fixation by cancellous screws + external fixator bridging the femoral gap. We decided to postpone fixation of the rt. tibia till improvement of the soft tissue . What would be the plan for this major injury ?? |
